here’s a little something to hold over the tide
as we reorganize, readjust, and maybe shift our direction in a way
for now, something of a fanfare, like:
and here it is folks, the moment you’ve all been waiting for
and a brand new, sparkling product à la Caesar Frazier is unveiled from behind a curtain atop a podium
even if this is a music site and not the Price is Right
“Sweet Children” ~ Caesar Frazier
There you are
In the beautiful Hebrides of Scotland
The sky is partly cloudy, you think
There, you descend the hill —sliding striding
Your shoulder itself a hill sloping; it’s that bag it wears, it’s your pen and paper and sketchpad inside
There’s a small path down here in the valley –
A stream once ran there, you hypothesize,
You’re writing a history
But really you’re trying to right your own
all in the breeze fluffing your hair, bristling your shirt, lightly whooshing between your legs
all in the sky, where the sun is only half not there, and half here,
You decide you believe it’s here.
And here it is indeed.
So go, let the soles of your feet press gently on this carpet of green- so- green earth
Kind of like that fading voice softly grazing that breeze:
careful caress along each solitary blade; swirling sweetly then, up to some unknowable start or finish
And new, you patter on, feet to grass, hair to wind, heart to soul breath to brain
Even as idyllic pastures sing sweetly those old favorites
Which remain favorite and foreign to your ears
“Hi-Fi” ~ M. Ward
sorry for the interlude
but ripe for the end of summer, a post by the ever-charming Devika Balaram
